Most of you have your sunblock, beach towels and "itsy bitsy, teeny weenie, yellow polka-dot bikinis" packed, but what about us with no tickets, no reservations and no plans?
Whether shopping, taking chances or having fun in the snow is on your agenda, here are several close-to-home options that could end up being a satisfying "staycation."
Waterloo Premium Outlets
For those of you shopaholics looking for a simple yet worthwhile day trip, the Waterloo Outlets is a great option.
This is a good option for those who do not want to travel far from the comforts of home but would still like to sneak in a little bit of fun into their week.
There is a store for everyone, ranging from Pac Sun to J. Crew, with amazing deals that are easy to appreciate.
The deals here become even sweeter around the holidays when prices can be slashed up to 50 percent or more.
There is also a small food court with several different options to satisfy almost any craving. There is pizza, Chinese, burgers, and ice cream, just to name a few.
This day trip would be ideal to spend with the family because with so many options, it's impossible for anyone to leave unhappy.
Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel
This entertainment packed facility is located on the American side of the Niagara Falls and has much more to offer besides gambling.
Along with a casino filled with over 4,200 slot machines, the hotel offers a night club, a spa, numerous restaurants, and several retail stores, including the affordable store TEN, which every item is only $10.
There is also a fitness center with an indoor pool for those who don't want to break their exercise routines even while on vacation.
This location is about one hour and 40 minutes from St. John Fisher, with Greyhound tickets averaging roughly $20.50.
If taking the bus doesn't appeal to you, grab a few buddies, chip in together for gas money, and prepare a killer iTunes playlist.
Greek Peak Mountain Resort
A resort like this is hailed for being a prime spot of vacation for any season.
This resort has everything for everyone. Included is a mountain for skiing, snowboarding and tubing or an indoor water park that is kept at a consistent temperature of 82 degrees.
Cascade Indoor Water Park has a multi-level structure complete with a wave pool and a 1,000-gallon deluge bucket. Located in Cortland, N.Y. and about two hours from Rochester is a great getaway for a sweet value.
In the way of transportation, a bus would be the most efficient. While it may not be the fastest, it is the most cost effective when it comes to gas and tolls.
When purchasing a room which has a maximum occupation from six to 10 guests, some rooms include water park passes. Currently, there is a special going on that if you check in Sunday through Tuesday for a two-night stay, you can get a third night free. How could you pass that up?
