Abby started a girl's lacrosse team at her former high school in Richford, N.Y., but not before playing on the boy's team for two years. Once she got the girl's team up and running, she ditched her body pads for a kilt.
Abby is also one of the two people who established Fisher's Equestrian Club in 2007. Now, its members are able to take riding lessons and show horses in competitions against other schools in the area.
Knowing this much, you don't honestly expect Abby to own the traditional dog/cat pet combination, do you? I didn't think so.
Abby just so happens to own three horses. And by next summer, she might have some white, woolly animals grazing in her backyard: sheep.
"I've been looking up on YouTube how to shear a lamb," she said. "It looks pretty do-able."
Another thing Abby wants to brush-up on is knitting . She can already knit scarves, but is looking to hone her hobby.
No, this wasn't Abby's New Year's resolution. In fact, she made one not to make one.
"When I don't follow through, then I get upset. So mine for this year is to just be happy with where I am in life," Abby said.
Someday she hopes to be a nurse practitioner at a ski resort in Colorado.
With Abby's dad being a doctor, she has shadowed him in his office and is sure that nursing is the right career choice for her.
If a job in the medical arena ever fell through, Abby's push-up and pull-up skills would surely impress any prospective employer.
"I can do a lot of them," she said. "Is that weird?"
The only thing that's weird is that this extreme-sports-loving adventure seeker actually gets scared once in a while.
"When I'm taking my four-wheeler off of a jump, sometimes my fear paralyzes me," Abby said.
