"I want students to know we're here to help them throughout their college career, not just when they're freshmen. As anything changes in their family financially or whatever, we want to help them," Monnat said. "This can all be found on the financial aid website and all of this information will be included with the financial aid packages."
For the upcoming semester, one thing students should keep in mind is that the Financial Aid Office is always looking for ways to improve efficiency.
"In the coming year we're going to save on postage and go green by utilizing email communications instead of paper mailing whenever possible," Monnat said.
Starting in the fall students should be aware that notices and updates about their financial aid packages could be sent to their Fisher email account, and email is an official mean of College communication.
"We want students to utilize Fish'R'Net more, it has the most up-to-date information. Students need to make sure that they check and read their Fisher email. Starting in the fall students are going to be missing out on important information if they haven't maintained their mailbox," Monnat said.
The Financial Aid office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. To make an appointment call 385-8042, stop by the office on the second floor of Kearney, or email finaid@sjfc.edu.

The only significant difference is with parent college loans. A Parent PLUS loan in the Direct Loan program has a lower interest rate.
