Students looking to get involved on campus in the fall 2009 semester will see a few new faces in the lineup of clubs.

The ONE Campaign, Men's Volleyball Club and Investment Club are new clubs that have been recognized and affiliated with the Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2009-2010 school year.

SGA Vice President Eddie Sundquist explained that after a club has met and is recognized for at least one semester by Campus Life, it may apply for SGA affiliation.

The process includes a meeting between the club president or executive board members and SGA. During the meeting, clubs must go over the affiliation process and have their club constitution reviewed by SGA's chief justice and judicial council to comply with SGA policies and procedures.

Once the club has been approved, its leaders can come before the SGA Council of Presidents (COP) to explain the mission of the club.

The members of COP then vote to either admit or deny the new clubs SGA affiliation.

Jackie Maynard is the leader of the ONE Campaign while Joe Cimino is the president of the new volleyball club and Tom Conaway is the president of the Investment Club.

All campus clubs and organizations seeking to remain active for the upcoming academic year must fill out and submit a Campus Life and SGA affiliation form with an electronic copy of their club constitution via email to either SGACOP@sjfc.edu or campuslife@sjfc.edu by Tuesday, April 21 at 4 p.m.
