All throughout the semester, I have been seated next to one of the most upbeat people I have ever met, Kaylee Kramer. Without fail, she always has a smile on her face and something funny to say. I decided I wanted to know more about her. She was more than happy to share her story.
On the surface, she looks like the average college student but in actuality, there is so much more. For starters, she has one of the busiest schedules of any college student I know. Along with being a full-time student handling a full course load complete with a double minor, she is also the Fisher Players' president, the Visual and Performing Arts senator, a peer advisor and a part of the CORE team.
"I love to scrapbook, swim and sing," Kaylee said, which I was surprised to hear because of her always busy agenda.
All throughout her life she has had a full schedule, so I am sure it seemed natural that she continued this throughout college, experiencing all the world has to offer.
Before she arrived here on campus almost two years ago, she already had quite a story to share. By the time she was 16, she had played softball for five years, she was a part of a cheer leading squad and was lucky enough to be on television for bowling when she was five, which, "was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life," she claimed.
When she was 16 years old, she lived in Florida for a total of 10 months. Numerous members of her family were employed at theme parks there, which kept them together. Her mother worked at the Magic Kingdom, both her aunt and uncle worked at Epcot and her grandfather worked for Universal Studios.
This was no surprise that her family would work together and stay so close. By the time she was 16, Kaylee had lived with her mother, her grandmother, her grandfather, her aunt, her uncle, and her three cousins all at the same time. With all of these people, their home always had a lot of excitement. She also has three stepsisters.
"My friends always joke around and called me 'Cinderlee' in high school," Kaylee said, referring to Cinderella and her two stepsisters.
