Inspiration; it's just one little word with so much meaning behind it. Really, it's hard to even attempt to identify the meaning of such a word, but according to www.dictionary.com, the definition is "an animating action or influence."
Many things in life cause inspiration. For some, it's a song or a piece of artwork. For others, it's knowing someone who serves as an influence. But for many, various locations around the world are what inspires them the most.
The Seven Wonders of the World have been chosen as such for a number of reasons, including the fact that their beauty, magnificence, or simplicity allow for inspiration.
The Seven Natural Wonders include the following: Mount Everest in Nepal, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Northern Lights, the Paricutan Volcano in Mexico and the Harbor of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Each of these natural wonders is inspiring for different reasons.
Overall, though, they inspire because they remind each of us that, despite the negativity, there is still so much beauty in the world.
Although Fisher students may disagree as to what parts of the world are, in fact, the most inspiring, the fact that the general population here, and elsewhere, travel to different locations plays a part in that.
One thing can be certain - in a world that has plenty of ugliness in it, it's nice to be reminded that there is still an abundance of beauty, both physical and personal, in the world. This beauty creates the inspiration that we feel when we visit these places, and, hopefully, during our everyday lives.
Fisher students are inspired by many places. Andrew Alba, Megan MacDonald and Kourtney Evans shared their places of inspiration with the Cardinal Courier.
St. John Fisher junior Andrew Alba, who has traveled to many beautiful places throughout the world, says, "The most inspiring place I have ever been is Waiheke Island, New Zealand. It is a tiny island off the coast of the North Island (near Auckland)."

I so agree with Andrew's vision on Waiheke Island!!! That is why I haven chosen to live there and call the place my Paradise Island!
Many of my visitors feel the powers of this island. (Continued…)
