Letter from the editor

You may be wondering, what is this mini newspaper doing in the middle of my Courier? Don't be alarmed, there isn't anything odd going on here.
As an end of the year gift to you, we decided to put together a special section that takes a look at Fisher through the years.
We've included a lot of interesting information like why the heck is the basketball court called Wanzer Court? Did we really have a bar on campus? And how much did tuition cost when the College first opened? (Your jaw will hit the floor when you read that piece of info!)
But it's not all about Fisher's past. We sat down with President Donald Bain to talk to him about his plan for Fisher's future which he has mapped out in his 20/20 Vision.
Also, at the bottom of the page you will notice that throughout the package we have constructed a timeline of the College to help you become more knowledgable on the history of the institution you've been attending. (Bet you don't know off the top of your head what year Fisher became a co-ed college!)
So, why did we do this?
Well besides the fact that we are a bunch of newspaper nerds and thought it would be a lot of fun to put together, we think it's important for us as students to really understand the history of Fisher as it shows us how our beloved College got to be where it is today and where it might go in the future.
I know what you're thinking, what took us so long to do this? Well, believe it or not, this idea is actually three years in the making. Originally it was the brain child of former editor in chief Bill Kuchman, and we have spent the last two years honing the idea until we figured it out.
That being said, I would like to thank all of the Courier staff writers and senior staff members for finally making yet another one of our dreams a reality. Your hard work and dedication never ceases to amaze me; you should be thoroughly proud of everything you have done this past year. I know I am. Also thank you to Maherly Schaeffer for helping us out with images.
So here it is. Finally finished. I hope you enjoy the fun stuff we have in here, learn some new facts about Fisher and also that you hold onto it for awhile. Show your folks, heck, show your future children. After all, we didn't make this hoping you would simply recycle it after reading.
