Coach recalls playing in NCAA Final Four

Women's basketball made two tournament appearances

"Still to this day, I can't believe we lost with no time left by two foul shots to Hope. It makes you want to work every practice and every game harder and harder."

The nucleus of Fisher's successes that breathtaking season was Susan Heidt. The senior scorer finished the season averaging 23.2 points and 82 percent from the free throw line.

"Its going to take dedicated athletes with a single-minded goal towards winning the national championship," said coach Ermi, who is also a member of Fisher's Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Cardinals dominated during their championship caliber seasons as they won 95 percent of their games.

It's been 30 years since the Lady Cardinals have gotten a shot at national glory. The women's basketball program has made 31 postseason appearances and has a stocked trophy case that holds plenty of trophies and accolades, including a couple of ECAC Championships and an ECAC "Team of the Year" honor.

But when the time comes, coach Ermi and company won't have a problem making room for that national championship hardware.
