Lady Cards open Chase Tournament with win

St. John Fisher College opened the JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament with a 58-45 victory over R.I.T. Tuesday night.
Fisher (8-3), the No. 2 seed in the eight-team tournament, was paced by junior Mary Kate Comfort's 18 points and six rebounds. The Cardinals used an 11-0 run to build a 29-18 halftime lead, a lead R.I.T. could not overcome.
Fisher will return to action Thursday night against the No. 3 seed, Nazareth College. The game will be played at R.I.T.
The men's squad begins Tournament play Wednesday, in a 6:15 p.m. contest with Roberts Wesleyan.
