Fire trucks were called to the scene as students stood outside wondering what was going on.
"I don't know why we are out here, I'm freezing," junior Lauren Ludovico said. "At first we all thought it was a fire drill, but now that the trucks are here, it probably isn't."
At about 3:00 p.m., everyone was allowed back inside without incident.
Fire Marshall Ron Ange attributed the alarm to dust.
"The alarm went off in Basil-135, I think dust may have set it off," Ange said.

I think that's kind of strange. Why would dust set off a smoke detector?
