Senior Week begins

Senior Week is here, with activities planned for St. John Fisher College seniors from Monday through Friday.

A Casa Larga Wine Tour takes place Monday. Separate tours will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and transportation will be provided from Fisher.

A highlight of the week will be Senior Ball, to be hosted at the Locust Hill Country Club on Wednesday, May 7 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. On Thursday, May 8 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a gathering one last time as a class to reflect on the past four years from class officers. Faculty representatives and other special guests, and seniors will receive last minute instructions for the Commencement Ceremony and receive a special Fisher Token.

According to Tom Rodgers, director of Campus Life, Juan Williams from National Public Radio will be the keynote speaker at this year's Commencement. "President's Award Ceremony" will be in Cleary Family Auditorium, Kearney Hall Friday, May 9, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. No tickets are needed for this event. "Many students from all degree programs will receive awards from the college at this ceremony," Rodgers said.

St John Fisher College will host its 54th Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. Students will check in 8:30 a.m. The Ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. For the convenience of the guests, a sign language interpreter will be available as well as reserves seating for those who are physically challenged. Please call ahead if anyone in your party requires special seating or an interpreter at (585) 385-8229.

Rogers stated that Danielle Valerino, who is the class president, will be the undergraduate speaker for the class of 2008. The second class speaker will be Kiah Nyame who is in the Human Service Administration Program.

Bon Appétit will host the Commencement Celebration Dinner. Dinner is by reservation only. There will be seating selections to choose from. Undergraduate residential seniors are permitted to stay in the Residence Hall rooms during the week before Commencement with permission.
