Scott 'Scotty' Toombs and his parents, Bonnie and Kurt, were seen during the final hour of the 26th Annual Teddi Dance for Love in February.

Scott 'Scotty' Toombs, a familiar face to many at St. John Fisher College, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, April 22 at his home in Spencerport. He was 11 years old.

The 26th annual Teddi Dance for Love, held Feb. 8 and 9 this year, was dedicated to Scott, a Camp Good Days and Special Times camper. He made an appearance at the dance and was present for the final hour of the event with his parents.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, Scott "passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family." He was described as "an energetic, happy little boy taken from us all too soon." The article goes on to say that "Scott's family would like to thank all our friends who have supported us during Scott's illness and especially Dr. David Korones and his team for all their help and the personal touch they gave caring for Scott during his illness."

A wake will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., 15 West Avenue, Spencerport. A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Spencerport.

The Toombs family is asking for memorials to be sent to Camp Good Days and Special Times, 1332 Pittsford-Mendon Road, Mendon, N.Y. 14506 in Scott's memory.

Thank you so much for posting this information. Scotty was the most amazing kid - always laughing, smiling, and flirting with the girls! He touched my life in so many ways, and he will always hold a special place in the heart of all those who were at the dance this year. (Continued…)
