"I will be the primary person to come to, but I have a strong, dedicated team behind me who are helping me out 110 percent. So yes, I am the contact person for Bon Appétit until the contract is over," Ramirez said. "At this point in time with Bon Appétit, we are going to uphold our contract as strong as possible. We're going to stay committed and finish off strong."
The previous general manager of Bon Appétit, Jim Liebow, will not be on campus for the rest of the semester.
"Jim Liebow was asked to no longer be on campus, although he was not terminated," Ramirez said. "He is still employed with Bon Appétit, and as far as being the general manager on campus, whoever made the decision I guess felt that his services were no longer needed."
The decision to hire Lackmann was made by Donald Bain and the Board of Trustees, with input from the Bid Review Committee. The committee was comprised of faculty, staff and students. Student members of this committee included junior Alaina Underberg, and sophomores Walter Casper and Chris Keyes.
Student Government Association (SGA) executive officers Jim Kennedy, director of student services; Tara Wyszkowski, director of activities; and president Jackie Morrison were present at the final meeting with Lackmann, according to Morrison.
"[Fisher] invited Lackmann to campus to do a luncheon," SGA Vice President John Snyder said.
"When proposals were submitted, [each company] had great new ideas and improvements to this campus in their proposals, everyone except for Bon Appétit, which planned on changing nothing," Casper said. "They gave an impression that they didn't want to come back, that and the positive attributes about Lackmann is why they won."
