"I can promise that it will be better food," Casper said. "The biggest thing is that they're so open to the things that students want. I mean, you can't eat in the dining hall past 6:45 now. It won't be like that [with Lackmann]. They are willing to extend the hours if students are responsive."
Lackmann currently operates services for the New York Stock Exchange, NASA, Hofstra University, Pace University and has a long-standing reputation with each place.
Underberg, Casper and Keyes visited Hofstra University to taste test the food and view the facilities before the decision was made. Underberg, Casper and Keyes were chosen by Fisher's director of facilities, Larry Jacobson.
"They know [operating hours] have been a big issue on our campus and they said they are going to be willing to make any changes they can as long as it is beneficial to both the students and them," Casper said.
Casper also said that student representatives clearly expressed the need for more cups and forks, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
