Are we ready for the 3-D bandwagon?

A Christmas Carol, Avatar, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and G-Force were a couple of movies that were presented in 3-D this year, and consumers are willing to pay extra bucks to watch them. But, are they willing to spend the extra money to bring this home? Companies such as Sony, Panasonic, and Vizio, have created 3-D TVs and Blu-ray players that will allow people to enjoy the 3-D thrill they get at the IMAX Theaters in the comfort of their own homes.… Post the First Comment

Facebook's face-lifts are complicated

As college students we're often contemplating witty ways to make the next million dollar product. With the cost of tuition rising, the recent purchase of textbooks and spring break around the corner, let's face it, we're broke. This quick buck concept was something that may have crossed Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg's mind, but it was never thought to be considered a multibillion dollar company that would one day have over 350 million users.… Post the First Comment

Well, until someone donates X millions of dollars to create a parking garage bearing his or her name, we will have to take what we can get.… Post the First Comment

New campus addition does more harm than good

A $3 million donation is a good thing. A new track field is not bad, but why do we need it? Fisher has implemented a hiring freeze and refused to give raises to current employees, which is appropriate in this economy. With the current hiring freeze, where we will we get staff for this building? While the construction is paid for by the Polisseni grant, next year when taxes are due, and the maintenance fees have to be paid, we will have to pay for maintenance .… Post the First Comment

Transition back to Fisher made more complicated

Returning from abroad was one of the hardest things I've ever had to face in my life. I still don't know when I'll be able to return to Peru to see my friends and host family again. At the same time, it was awesome to come home to my family and friends that I had left behind for four and a half months earlier.… Post the First Comment

A Second Opinion

This Week's Topic: Avatar
Imagine yourself on a strange planet. There are strange plants and a variety of wildlife. Well, put on your 3-D glasses, and get down to the local movie theater, and you can experience it for real. Who would have thought that a movie about giant, blue aliens would go on to be such a blockbuster hit? Apparently, the answer to that is James Cameron.… Post the First Comment
